Lacy Day

J’ai déniché ce kimono en dentelle à Baltimore dans le chouette quartier de Fells Point chez Brightside Boutique. Je l’A-DO-RE et en plus il était soldé à presque rien (20$ si je me souviens bien).

Pour casser un peu son côté romantique/fleur-bleue/Yumi-au-pays-des-merveilles, je n’ai choisi que du noir pour le reste de ma tenue. Le mini combishort (et oui, encore… j’ai menti) tranche joliment grâce au contraste des couleurs et des longueurs, tout en rappelant la dentelle.

Je conclus le tout par une belle paire de talons. Comme je suis assez grande, j’ai toujours eu du mal à en porter par le passé. Mais bon, j’ai fini par changer d’avis. Quitte à faire deux mètres, autant y aller à fond, non?

Point négatif : Soit on coupe ma tête dans les photos de groupe, soit je dois adopter la position « genoux pliés », ce qui n’est pas franchement flatteur.

Point positif : Je ne me retrouve pas coincée à hauteur des aisselles en pleine heure de pointe dans le métro Bruxellois.

I found this lace kimono at Brightisde Boutique in Fells Point, one of Baltimore’s coolest neighbourhoods. I LO-VE it and even got it for practically nothing since it was on sale (20$ if I remember correctly).

To avoid ending up with a much too romantic/mushy/Yumi-in-wonderland look, I only picked black items for the rest of my outfit. The mini playshorts (yes, again… I lied) allows me to get a strong, yet lovely contrast of colours and lengths, while bringing out the lace pattern.

I just add a pretty pair of heels and I’m done. Since I’m quite tall, I used to have a lot of difficulties in pulling them off. But I finally changed my mind. I’m already giant, might as well go all the way, don't you think?

Con: Either my head gets chopped off in group photos, or I have to strike a bent knees pose, which isn’t really flattering.

Pro: I don’t get stuck at armpits level in the Brussels subway during rush hours
