The Mini Denim Skirt

Annyeong !

Annyeong!

The fateful day of our return is getting dangerously close. I have in fact booked my trip back, torn between the excitement of seeing my loved ones, and the regret of leaving my Korean life, of which I am not tired yet. I'm glad to get back to all the things I've missed, yet I'm sad to leave all the things that I'll be missing. I guess that all the people affected by itchy feets experience the same kind of situation when it's time to leave and/or to go back to their home country. I also guess that this ambiguous feeling is even stronger for people who, like me, have several home countries. The best thing to do is to focus on what you gain (the people, the unpolluted air, real smelly cheese, my car, my closet, the garlic-smell-free subway, and concert venues) and not on what you lose (the safety, the blue sky, bibimbap, the public transports on time, the skincare, the sweaty-smell-free subway, and the stimulating city by day and by night).

Let's talk about clothes for a bit. I'm seizing the opportunity to walk in the street without fear of facing oppressive and unpleasant catcalling to wear my current favorite item: the ripped denim miniskirt. I still only swear by high waisted bottoms and I have added an accessory I usually never wear: the belt, whose role is purely decorative here. Once again, my outfit is quite simple, but the accessories and shoes bring the final touch to go from a basic look to a fashionable one. I chose this choker, which is eerily similar to a miniature version of my belt, and have combined it all with a pretty pair of heels. I have to admit that I'm a bit lost with a closet that is limited to what I could take in my suitcases, but I'm trying to do my best with what I have at my disposal.

I'm looking forward to having more things to say in the weeks to come. I'm impatiently waiting for my family to arrive here next weekend (almost as impatiently as I'm waiting to see Avengers on Thursday), and with whom I count on making the most of the fact that I'm here. Since I'll be working until the end of May, I'm saving many trips for June and early July (when it'll be hot and humid, and when we'll be the only ones sweating among the Koreans).
