Riot Girl Goes Romantic

Pour ce photoshoot, je vous emmène à Biwon, le jardin secret du palais de Changdeok. C'est un endroit que j'apprécie énormément pour son calme et sa beauté. Difficile de se rendre compte que l'on est en plein coeur de Séoul tant la quiétude de cet endroit contraste avec

le bruit de la capitale. Au printemps, le jardin regorge de magnifiques fleurs et rend la visite encore plus agréable. Je n'avais pas vraiment prévu de faire un shoot ce jour-là, sinon j'aurais porté quelque chose de plus « romantique » pour coller à l'atmosphère du palais, mais tant pis.

Je n'ai pas pu résister quand j'ai vu ce t-shirt dans les rayons d'Undiz. « Riot Girl » est le titre d'une chanson de mon groupe préféré. Heureuse coïncidence pour la fangirl que je suis depuis mes 13-14 ans. Si mes goûts musicaux sont restés inchangés pour certains artistes, mon style vestimentaire, lui, est vraiment différent. À 14 ans, mon look fétiche consistait en un t-shirt de groupe 10 fois trop grand (qui pouvait faire office de robe), une ceinture à clous (pour exprimer ma rébellion contre le système HAHA), un pantalon cargo (NON), des grosses Vans (bon, ok), du vernis noir (parfois j'alternais le noir et le rouge un doigt sur deux et je trouvais ça incroyablement stylé) , et le très populaire trait de kohl sous les yeux (celui qui les rend deux fois plus petits).

J'avais prévu de revenir en Belgique début juillet exprès pour éviter l'été ici où la chaleur est vraiment insoutenable. Je me croyais safe d'ici fin juin, mais il commence déjà à faire chaud et lourd. Le genre de temps qui te donne la sensation d'être moite, collante et puante toute la journée (GLAM). J'avoue que ça me dérangerait moins si je pouvais me promener en short tous les jours, mais je suis prof et ça le fait moyen au boulot. Je vais devoir trouver des astuces pour shooter les prochaines tenues avant que mon make-up ne dégouline, que mes fringues ne me collent à la peau et que mes cheveux ne soient qu'une masse informe que j'ai envie de raser. Ça promet !

Let me take you to Biwon for this photoshoot. It's the secret garden of Changdeok Palace and it's a place I really appreciate for its calm and beauty. Its tranquility offers such a contrast with the noise of the capital that it is hard to believe you're in the heart of Seoul. During spring, the garden is filled with gorgeous flowers and makes the visit even lovelier. I had not planned on shooting an outfit that day otherwise I would have worn something more “romantic” in order to fit in the palace's atmosphere, but whatever.

I couldn't resist when I saw this t-shirt at Undiz. “Riot Girl” is the title of one of my favorite band's song, which was a happy coincidence for the fangirl that I have been ever since I was 13-14. If my taste in music remains the same for some artists, my taste in fashion has considerably changed. When I was 14, what I considered my “best look” was a combination of a much too big t-shirt (that could easily be worn as a dress), a studded belt (to express my rebellion against the system HAHA), cargo pants (NO), big Vans sneakers (that's ok), black nail polish (sometimes I'd alternate black and red on my fingers thinking it was so cool), and the infamous black liner underneath my eye (the one that makes you eyes twice as small).

I wanted to come back to Belgium in early July to avoid the summer here when the heat is absolutely unbearable. I thought I'd be safe until the end of June but turns out it's already hot and heavy. The kind of weather that makes you feel moist, sticky and stinky all day long (so glamorous). It wouldn't bother me so much if I could wear shorts all the time, but I'm a teacher and it's not the brightest of ideas when I'm at work. I'll have to find ways to shoot my next outfits before my makeup starts dripping, my clothes start sticking and my hair starts becoming an ugly mess I want to shave off. Sounds promising!
